About the Role
When you join the Avery Farms team as a Supervisor, you’ll take on a leadership role in ensuring our farming operation runs smoothly. You’ll be responsible for overseeing daily production, maintaining quality and food safety standards, and ensuring our team of Modern Farmers is trained and supported. What You’ll Do
- Ensure daily production goals are met efficiently and accurately
- Conduct daily inspections to uphold quality and food safety standards
- Oversee and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as needed
- Train and mentor Modern Farmers, providing guidance on best practices
- Monitor and mix fertilizers to maintain optimal plant health
- Keep the farm, farm equipment, and work areas clean and organized
- Follow and enforce workforce safety and food safety practices
- Troubleshoot operational challenges and implement solutions
Who You Are
- Able to work 32 – 40 hours per week, and overtime as production requires
- Experience in a supervisory or leadership role, preferably in agriculture, food production, or manufacturing
- Strong ability to lead, train, and motivate a team
- Self-starter who takes initiative and problem-solves on the fly
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and continuous improvement
- Maintains a high productivity level by operating with a sense of urgency, efficiency, and effectiveness
- Ability to take direction and implement changes quickly
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards is an asset
- Basic mechanical or technical skills are an advantage
- Able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds
- Must be at least 18 years old
